I’m picking my boat up today at noon from J&J Fiberglass and Marine and decided to go on to Bankhead since I’ve over half way there anyway. I assume the water is hot and the LM are not shallow in grass or on wood. What say any of you bass professionals that fish Bankhead? How can I get my wife on some fish over there?

FISH right there on the right at the mouth of howtons has produced fish for me numerous times. Mostly swim jigs or frogs. Fish the drop off with a crank or rattle trap!

Never fished Bankhead, but last weekend on the Alabama River I had several nice bass and a 4-13 off of shallow laydowns using a soft plastic frog.

I've thrown a swimjig a good bit at Holt. I left there convinced that the shoreline grass was merely decorative.

Ha... My son would disagree... He's a swimjig whisperer 😁

I cant tell you exactly how many tournaments I have won on the Bankhead with nothing but a swim jig but I bet its more than 20.

Flipped grass and wood for 5 hours. Threw trick worm, buzz bait as well. Had one bite flipping and two on buzz bait. Water is so clear I can at least three feet deep maybe four.

In september I used to catch a bunch swimming a worm around laydown on or just off of river flats from howtons to franklins ferry. Thats probably how I caught them best last time I fished down there in september. Last time I won in October or November was swimming a jig from the lower damn back uo river 5 miles or so swimming river points.
