My folks need a taller or high seat toilet. What is the going cost for a simple swap of a regular toilet with a higher seat toilet? TIA

If you’re doing it yourself go get one from Lowe’s. It’ll be around $2-300. Get a new wax ring while you’re at it.

Very simple job. Installed 100's. Get a good wax seal that has the bolts with the plastic washers that hold them in place, sit the toiled beside the hole and pick ut up near the tank and hover it over the bolts. Good lighting is a must. Push it down to start wax ring seal. Metal washers over bolts and tighten little bit at a time going side to side. DON'T over tighten

LUCK:::; When presistence, dedication, perspiration and preparation meet up with opportunity!!!

I have no doubt I will end up doing it. But they had a plumber quote them 800$ per toilet or 1500$ for the 2 toilets. I told them it wouldn’t take 30-45 mins per toilet and that was a ridiculous price.

It’s literally 2 bolts and a wax ring. And some stink haha

And use the actual Wax Ring. Those synthetic rings are not as good. Replaced several.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Being that I haven’t smelled anything in over a year, I don’t even have to worry a about that part. Lol

Make SURE and inspect the toilet for damage! I usually always check stuff before i take to camp, but ended up not checking a new toilet i purchased a few years ago, and sure enough the whole bottom was busted! Already pulled up the old one too🤦🏿

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

One thing I'll add . It's more important than you may think.

I've replaced a lot of regular toilet's to ADA ones . The one you buy comes with a hard plastic seat take it off change it out

You'll gain about 2 more inches. Believe me those 2 inches makes a difference

I appreciate all the advice and response fellas. I’m Trying to take care of my folks and get them set up in in a sustainable situation so they can live at home with dignity and don’t end up in an assisted living situation. It’s been unbelievable at some of the prices/estimates that they have got for some uncomplicated projects.

I got a higher Kohler toilet, a few years ago, and it is great!
Wife had both hips replaced and said that thing is gold!

You don't have to change the toilet...just use a "toilet seat extender". You can get them in several different heights. Many of the toilets in the nursing home I use to work in had them
