Everything about this new "Concord like" supersonic airplane sounds like a crock of shucks to me. In the construction industry right now we have to deal with LEED accreditation bull so my bullcrap radar goes off when I read stuff like:
"Environmental performance is being considered in all aspects of Overture, from design and production to flight and end-of-life recycling," Boom said on its website. "The engineering team prioritizes circularity by repurposing used tooling, recycling components on the shop floor and leveraging additive manufacturing techniques that result in less manufacturing waste and lighter, more fuel-efficient products."

I for one dont want to be first in line to fly on a more environmentally friendly airliner. I want my plane to be built out of trusted materials and stay in the air!

I'm sure the modern design will operate more efficiently than the Concord. Supersonic travel is not allowed over land, which significantly reduces its advantage.

The SAF fuel is a crock of shucks. Things like used cooking oil can be used on a small scale. We will need palm oil or something similar for this to be used on every plane. It will turn into an environmental disaster, similar to biodiesel in Europe.

38 years in the airline industry and they want to use cooking oil for fuel. I fly a lot. I will continue to fly on my Jet A kerosene fuel.

I have great memories of the original Concorde. It was awesome. Saved for years to have the chance to fly it to London. I remember the takeoff from Miami which was a quick steep ascent. We flew off the coast and made it to DC in quick order like 30-45 minutes. Then DC to London in 3 hours. No other traffic as you flew so high it was dark blue. Watching the Mach meter go from .90 to .95 and up to 1.0 and beyond. The transition to supersonic was a cool experience. We were up to Mach 2.01 transatlantic from what I remember. Only the Best service and food, wine and liquor on British Airways Concorde. They spoiled the heck out of the passengers. Concorde class was a step above first class. I still have the menus and wine list. Made me a wine snob and I learned to appreciate port. 1.7 is slow compared to the original. beers

They are claiming they will have it running in 2029. Pipe dream, to participate in the eco nonsense.

The same old global warming movement started by Gore. Lot of people fleecing taxpayers the world over to get rich. Wonder how much gore is still making off it ?

Would be great if it worked but I have serious doubts and concerns.

They will get $22 billion in green funding from the .gov and be in bankruptcy auction before a mock up is made.

I read where a ticket to London would be about $5k.
