To start on a positive note, they take a much smarter approach to fitness than I did as a young meathead. And them young wimmins that do squats make my body do something that is hard to hide in gym shorts.

The problem I have is the way they shamelessly flex in the mirror and take selfies for extended periods of time. I've never seen people so consumed with vanity before, but that's what you get when social media raises children.

I enjoy yoga pants. Gals know your looking. One I see sometimes at Publix puts on a show for me. Tip ladies, if the first number in your weight is 2. Please refrain from wearing them in public. 🤷‍♂️

I get what you’re saying. People are addicted to phones and social media every where. But I must ask, what good does it do to bring it up on social media?

Nah, I think it’s the convenience of having a camera in our pocket at all times. They would have done it 30 years ago just the same if they knew the local diner wouldn’t take down a Polaroid of themselves.

They're spending 30-45 minutes trying to get the perfect photo to post on social media. They've been conditioned to obsess over portraying a curated version of their self on social media.

It doesn't really bother me, I usually think it's funny. It just makes me wonder about the morals being taught to our youth. I'm turning into an old curmudgeon.

I don’t care if they pose in front of the mirror, I’m more embarrassed for them than anything.

I do care if they:

- horseplay with one another as I’m nearby with heavy dumbbells overhead
- hog multiple dumbbell weights at once
- leave weights scattered everywhere
- or the absolute worst … dropping dumbbells on the floor from height after a set trying to be loud. Wonder why all our dumbbells are loose on the handles???
- other assorted gym fouls

I’m mostly being an old crusty. I’m sure I was annoying at the gym when I was 18.

Not only do they pose for the perfect shot but theres some who will not ever post a picture unless its filtered. Not only vain but compulsively dishonest. It is pathetic. Very little honesty or integrity left in the world today. It is certainly a problem

Our local gym was next to the gun shop so I was exposed to vanity early in life big fellow from Hoover came by one day with his spray tan gold chains over the mountain attitude it was going great untill...Timmy walked in 6'4 255 lbs 9%.body fat ate a dozen eggs and a ribeye for breakfast Timmy was humble gracious almost shy but God blessed him with inhuman strength. Last visit for Mr.spray tan.

Only hits count.

And then you have those sorry bastards, that have to actually work for a living and don’t have time, to go to the gym. The nerve of some people. Geez.

On the bright side, at least they are making some effort to stay reasonably thin and healthy. More than can be said for a great number of our brother and sister Americans. Obesity, in my opinion, is the most dire health issue we face as a nation. If our populace was called upon to repel invaders, there would be more casualties from heart attacks than bullets the first week.

"I work for a living and go to the gym every day."

I'm in there too. Usually 4 days a week.
