I find it amusing, or disconcerting, that the very people whose profession is to keep the public safe can't even secure their own vehicle and posessions.
I'll sleep better tonight, next to my AK and pump 870. The problem is thievery, not offers leaving guns secured in their vehicles. Lets not make the victim of a crime (theft) the bad guy. BP, we aren't making the victims the bad guys. We are pointing out piss poor policy. You don't leave automatic weapons, shotguns etc, in your patrol car overnight.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

No one ever said there was any policy that allowed it either, nor did I say I agreed with it. Just passing on what I was told regarding the Mobile PD. If the Gadsden PD has a policy against leaving guns in vehicles, they should be held accountable.
However, I don't think such a policy is necessary since staling is already illegal. I leave gubberment owned valuables in gubberment owned vehicles all the time.

Your to busy trying to sound good and not looking at the big picture. If you can't see it, there is no need in explaining it to you.

it appears the LEO's were extremely irresponsible and if true IMO should be held criminally liable for their reckless behavior. We're currently trying to get the truth out of Eric Holder for the same thing but on a much larger scale
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

What would you suggest the criminal charge be?

“It’s obvious these vehicles were targeted, and knowing what kinds of weapons were inside has us worried,” Sheriff Todd Entrekin said. “What would someone need these types of weapons for?”
Same reason the cops need them ... to carelessly spray hundreds of rounds capable of shooting through houses and cars with complete disregard for life & property. With rare exception, when a one shot one kill sniper is required, about 99% of common street criminals can be neutralized with a .45 and a 12 gauge.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

When it comes to houses, sheetrock, etc. it penetrates less then the standard LEO handgun or slugs.

What would you suggest the criminal charge be? Some type of criminal negligence charge similar to what a parent would get if they left a loaded firearm in the reach of a child and the child shot himself or someone else. Firearm ownership comes with responsibility. All mine are locked up in a safe to prevent criminals from not only stealing them from me but using them in a crime.

How do you hit them with your 45 or 12 gauge when they are 50 yards away? I am not talking about a sniper situation you mentioned. Also, I can do more damage with my 12 gauge then I can with my AR15. Each 12 gauge 00 buckshot contains 9-12 30 caliber pellets. My AR only fires 1 22 caliber bullet with each pull of the trigger. Your argument for the semiauto rifle having more fire power than a shotgun is weak at best.

Firearm ownership comes with responsibility. All mine are locked up in a safe to prevent criminals from not only stealing them from me but using them in a crime. Not all are kept loaded as far as chamber. Most are cruiser ready and locked in steel holders that are accessible with keys or electronic switches. If one is gonna hold them liable for a gun left in their car then the same could be said for anyone hunting that stops at a gas station to get gas or eat and leaves their firearm in the truck. Could take it a step further if a policy is implemented and say that any officer on any call that doesn't take all is weapons out of his car on every call is liable or criminally negligent.
