Anyone know the worth of an M1 Garand made in 1945 for the Navy? I also posted this in the Guns forum but figured more people would see it in this forum! Thanks in advance.

Pretty much starting at $1500 and up depending on make and matching parts.could $3000 just depends on on how correct it is.

Supposedly they changed the barrel from .30 caliber to another barrel back then because ammo was too expensive. You know anything about that?

Changed it from a 30-06 to a chrome lined 7.62XS1 barrel for Navy use.

It's probably the 308 navy garand.therrs a ton of info on internet.its insane how popular garands are and people restoring them back to close as possible to original manufacturer.if it's 1945 that will be considered ww2 and add value.
You can look up the serial number and tell when it was made and everything.
There's alot of info that will tell you if the barrel matches the gun and all about the proof mark stamps

Probably only a couple hundred….but I’m feeling generous, I’ll give you $500 for it and even come pick it up. Tonight only!

.ore than likely what you have is a arsenal rebuild. garlands we're sent in and rebuilt in 308 and issued out to the navy for ship board security. If it's all correct and in decent shape it's worth a pretty decent amount

No it's a little different with the carbines but I can tell you what it's worth.im sure there's plenty of info but so many of the carbines have different parts that are correct because each manufacturer helped supply the other.

Yeah the rockolas are definitely popular and I believe those where of the lesser made .
Love ww2 rifles.never know what you have until you start digging
Bass pro in Leeds started buying out estates and my buddy found the rarest varient of m1 carbine actually two a tva marked one and a saginaw.i couldn't tell you details cause he's more of a collector historian than I am but one is roughly $2000 and the other is $5000 to the right person.a collector
Bass pro had no idea what they had and I was the one who told him about the rifles arrrgg go figure.i had no idea either just new they was priced right and rare for bass pro to have them
