Had never heard those words or had any clue what it is til today. Anyone that knows anything about it and doesn’t mind sharing please do so. Feel free to pm me if you don’t want speak publicly. My oldest nephew and his wife are expecting twins (due in September) and the bloodwork to check brain development came back abnormal. The bloodwork test showed spina bifida. They are doing another test to see if it was a false reading. Not sure when those results will be back. I’m trying to educate myself, as much as my feeble brain can comprehend, about the subject and would like to hear from anyone that has it or anyone with a child that has it. I have been doing my own research (although limited) and I don’t personally know anyone with firsthand experience in dealing with it.

I have a relative who was born with it back in the late 60's. It is a very treatable condition and my relative is still alive and has had a very normal life. Prayers Sent!

Varying degrees of it. Mild to major. Include surgery to correct the issue or being in a wc their entire life. Depends on severity.

My niece had to wear a corrective brace from 12 to 18. Now she is 22 and her back hasn't kept her from any physical activity.

I had a nephew that was born with it. He had to have surgery before he was a day old. He lived until he was in his 50's. With technology being what it is now I would chances should be good.

My grandson has it and I am on the board for Camp COOL, a camp for children with a primary diagnosis of cerebral palsy or spina bifida. I would be glad to answer any questions you have.
