Can someone point me toward some public land in eastern Kansas? Please pm me. Going to northern missouri and would like to hunt some land in Kansas.

Exactly. Great hunting there a the Walk in Hunter land owner program is great. I hunted there for deer and had a few giant properties to myself, never saw another hunter and this was during Early November.

Saw tons of turkeys. They are really well fed there. Every farm I saw was half Milo fields! The other half corn fields!

There is also a big public land stretch on a big lake just North of Manhattan Kansas that looked real good.

That is going to be in Area 3 and you only get one tag. I hunt about 40 miles NW of Manhattan on family land and they went to one tag about three years ago. To get a second tag you have to go to Areas 1 or 2 and those are West of US-81. The public land on that side is pretty scarce at least the public land close enough to our farm.

Kansas public land has been over run with OOS'ers in the past 5 years. Most Arkansas turkey hunters hunt more in Kansas than they do in their own state. It's really sad what it's become.

If you are talking about Milford Lake, there’s some food hunting there. Got an old Army buddy with a farm that butts up to the back side of that big piece of public land. Some good deer and Turkey hunting there for sure.
