More of my father-in-laws stuff I'm trying to get straight. Never seen one of these until I went into his gun closet, thought I'd share.

That might be worth some money if unfired. That's one that needs to go on Gun Broker IMO simply because this is an example of a firearm that someone would actually want for their collection. And being a Winchester there are many collectors.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Agree, no telling what that would fetch on GB

Do you have the original box? This is one of the many commemorative rifles that Winchester was putting out in the 60s-70s. Most "collectors" of these commemorative guns want the box, they were really colorful with artwork and pictures on them.

According to this article, there were 23000 made in '71 and sold for $150

Shooting Times

One on GB is $1250 "Buy It Now" but doesn't say if it's unfired or not

Winchester pumped out a pile of commemorative during this time but I ain't ever seen anything like this. Its like it's commemoration a musket in the front. That's a rare one for sure.

You’re right about that. I hate we didn’t get a chance to meet, she was nice as could be and good looking. Funny thing is I showed up 5-10min early and there was a Murano already sitting there where we had agreed to meet. Ol’gal driving was pushing 350lb and dark skinned as could be. She was looking down texting on her phone so I assumed that was your wife letting me know she was there. I pulled up and hopped out the truck. When I walked up to her window you shoulda seen the look on this woman’s face. I guess she thought I wanted to take her home with me because she slung that phone down and chirped the tires trying to get out of there. Something told me that wasn’t your wife but when she was at the right spot at the right time in the right vehicle, LOLOLOL. I’ll never forget the look of panic on that lady’s face when she looked up and there I stood.

I haven't run across the box yet but it could be there. I just got safe open and still looking around.

Very cool. I’m wanting a Winchester ‘66 Centennial and a Buffalo Bill commemorative. My grandfather had these guns stolen when I was a small boy. He bought them with plans to give them to me when I got old enough. Some POS broke into their home in the 1970’s and took them along with other guns and stuff.
