Has anyone ever hunted specifically deer or turkey hunted on any of the tva undeveloped land? What laws apply to it. On their website it says they follow state and federal laws so can you bait or run trail cameras on it for deer hunting? Tried getting in touch with tva through email and phone and have had zero luck.

Never looked into it, but TVA land seems to have no law enforcement jurisdiction in Alabama too. Criminals have figured this out.

I have hunted all the tva land around north alabama almost. I have only seen tva police maybe 5 times in maybe 25yrs of running on my own. All 5 times were just seeing them driving through town. Once I did see tva painting property lines. They weren't cops. I have seen a good bit of meth lab trash laying around. I found a backpack one day full of white powder from their ingredients.
It does seem to draw the worst kind of people. I quit going like I use to. Too many people moving here and using it now. Too many damn kyacks and hikers. Every place I hunted was heavily pressed by bordering land owners. They are always watching wether you realize it or not.
A few years ago I was walking back to my truck. Ran up on 5 men doing a deer drive. They killed everything out that year. They all lived in Tennessee. I got to know them because they were always there. Then comes their buddies and friends.

Gonna take my chance and try hunting some of it that borders elk river this turkey season/upcoming deer season. I’ll just drive my old beat up truck incase any hoodlums decide to mess with it

Friend of a friend parked on Hobbs Island Rd a little while back 😂. I kept telling them they are asking for trouble. I said you might come back and see your car in blocks. Sure enough, they came back, car was on blocks. They stole all 4 wheels. Factory wheels. There ain't no way on hell I'd park anything around there. If you get stuck, you better stay with your vehicle til help arrives. Over the decades, I have seen a good bit of that. Usually they bust out every window. I know this was a while ago but was it a really nice truck or something? I've parked and hunted down there a bunch and have never had any issue. My cars are shitty though. I have seen VERY few deer back in there FYI. Saw a bobcat once though which was cool.

I did get a deer on tva this year, but it was on probably the most hunted piece of public land in Alabama. I had a plan to get one with a bow before the crowds poured in. Yea - there are some guys who I think have success in there but I've seen them riding bikes wayyyyy deep. When I used to hunt it more, I saw more people on TVA than any other land in AL. Spoke with another guy once on my way out who said he saw a "basket 8" running around a small clearing near the entrance. I feel like that's common in AL though. Every guy I meet on public land seems to see a "basket 8" but "let it grow". I don't think anyone answered the question around the rules. I believe it falls under the "ON OPEN PERMIT-PUBLIC LAND". So shorter seasons and more rules.
