Coach Dye dang sure thought highly of him. To me, Dye was consistent about the players he spoke about often. Didn’t mean you were the most talented or the best, but if he was talking about, you were wired a little different. He saw “toughness” in some and acknowledged it.

After he left pro football he coached at Auburn during Terry Bowden’s tenure as AU head coach. He also was a pharmaceutical rep for quite some time, which requires a great personality. He really toted the water as a 5’6” tailback and in my opinion was the best running back inch for inch to ever play at AU. RIP “ Little Train”! "Never met a deer that I didn't like" - QDMAV8R
