My power bill has jumped from $300 in Jan last year to $500 Jan this year. WTF?
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Mines up also I havnt looked to compare but it's higher than usual and I don't even use electric heat that much

That sucks, mine has actually gone down. High efficiency heat pump and lots of blown in insulation in the attic My entire house is spray foamed

AL Power is a bunch of crooks and pretty much run this State because who else has pockets that deep and lobbies Montgomery. I am sure there are others but as another example Drummond Coal also use to be part of the Montgomery Swamp in the same manner... but their business has all but dried up.
Just vote for Katie Britt and everything will be fine. This is why there is such a political divide between North Alabama and the rest of the State. North Alabama is not influenced by AL Power they are on TVA and don't recognize the issues with allowing Southern Company to effectively control our State's politics with respect to any and all issues that impact their business.
We, the people of Alabama... we are the losers.

I thought Alabama had an energy board that sets the rates KW per Hour. Did they recently raise the rates? I thought this is how it works in Alabama. I was told 10% increase a couple months ago. Everyone dont pay the same price per kilowatt hour. When we first moved in here, i checked my bill along with my dads and father n laws. All three of us were paying a different rate. Mine was the cheapest, then my father n laws. My dad was paying about 60% mire than me per kilowatt hour
