Kind of a spinoff from JWalker's thread. I've got a small biz now that I'm about to expand a little and open up a separate account for. I'm also about to get into another venture, for which, I'll open an additional account.

About the best I’ve seen is 2% on all purchases. Some will offer more percentage on certain sectors and less on others. I have a capital one spark business card. Put everything I can on it, and pay it off every month. Generated about $3k last year on a card with a $99 yearly fee. Works well for me and the app is easy to use. I get an alert everytime it is used which I like.

Is the bulk of the spending in a specific category or very broad based?

General rule of thumb, 2% should be the goal.
If you invest with Fidelity they have a 2% card that will automatically roll the cash back into an investment account.
Another option is the Citi Double Cash.

People on here have poked fun at me about credit cards…meanwhile I’m going to Hawaii for 8 nights for very cheap in March.

I just looked at some that paid 8% on certain things. The cotibank card i just got will pay 5% on gas each month up to $500 then 1% after that. I think 2% is the norm

I have one card that pays 5% on gas and sporting good stores, no limits. Grandfathered in on this one as it’s no longer available.

5% cash back Amazon card

5% cash back Walmart card. I live in the county and pay less sales tax if order from Walmart online and have it delivered. Free delivery over $35 and I don’t have to deal with the people of Walmart.

One card thats 2% for everything.

None of these have any annual fees.

You're only as good as your worst shot-

We have been happy with our Cabela's cards. Cash back rewards only good at Cabela's, but that really doesn't bother us.

Figure out how to get a Keesler federal credit union card. I convert my points to cash back and end up getting 5-6% on everything.

I use Capital One and have for years. I couldn't tell ya what I've gotten back over the last 15 or 20 years. I've lost track.

For gas I use this app and it works. Since April 2021 I have received over $90.00 that I cash out to buy my fishing stuff on Amazon. I first heard about it on 99.5 in Birmingham and was skeptical at first. But I have found it very useful. The paragraph below contains the link if you care to use it.

I've been using this free GetUpside app to save money on gas and other everyday errands — I love it!

Give it a try. It's super easy to use and is basically free money that really adds up.

You'll get up to 25¢/gal cash back on gas in addition to this bonus I'm about to give you.

Use this link or enter my promo code BRUCE82252 to get an extra $2.22 bonus the first time you use the app: https://upside.app.link/BRUCE82252

I'll also get bonus cash back after you use the app (so thanks!).

I have a CostCo card that pays back well.. 2% on restaurants..gas.. etc. But I mostly use my BassPro card that only has a 1% payback on all things not BassPro but I like to use my points during hunting season. Today, I have $1,330 in BassPro points. Going to use it to get my grandson his first deer rifle.

Because we do so much Amazon, I got the Visa 5% Amazon card. It also does 1-3% on everything outside of Amazon. But be careful, it has an inflated credit limit, I could buy a house and a bass boat with it. We only use it for Amazon and pay it off every month, it does have great fraud protection.

Costco X2 everything we don't pay cash for goes on it or Discover.
No Annual Fees and they call and check with you if there is an out of the usual large purchase to make sure the card/account hasn't been stolen or hacked. I like that>>>
