The water being down doesn’t hurt the fishing at all. This time of year I fish a shaken head, jig, swim bait and crank bait on north and south end. The south end tends to be clearer water and at times you can see 8’ deep or more. Fish everything from points, humps and docks. The lake is loaded with small fish. Catching a three pounder is difficult unless the water temp gets right for them to move shallow. Catching fish won’t be a problem. Catching 15lbs will be.

Kids from Dadeville put 12.68 on the scales. Average fish weight was 1.33 lbs. Average weight per boat was 5.27 lbs.

Huge! Bigger than anything I've caught out of Martin. Congrats to him!

I caught a 7# large head on a three seater wave runner when I was around 12. Didn’t have digital scales but the regular Old ones were over 7. My dad caught a 8.6 late 90s after the tornado came through madwind point area. That was after he left it in the live well for 2-3 days. Couldn’t decide to mount her or not.

Rocky points. Slow roll a rattle trap through there. I've seen a lot of people talk about crawfish/red on here. Never had much luck. Sexy shad is my go-to. Sometimes chartreuse sexy shad. I always try a 6xd or 8xd on the point whether I'm catching them or not. That is if I see them on the graph. If he can't find them on his graph there's always the option for flipping docks. I know the water's still down, but that doesn't mean they're not still around the deeper docks. Docs are the only place I've had any luck with light tackle finesse techniques. Doesn't mean they don't bite out in open water off points, just not my favorite type of fishing. Every once in a while you can grab a large mouth off a dock, but most tournaments are full of spots these days out there. Also, I've never had any luck when it's rained really hard in certain parts of the lake have gotten really foggy. The bass are used to the Clear water they like the Clear water they bite in the clear water. A lot of people stay away from Blue creek. I've been seeing a lot of shad in the area, and if caught some fish recently chasing the shad. Rattle trap every time. If you also fish with soft plastics I've had luck with plum and Okeechobee green with a little bit of blue.
