So I take a lot of pics and videos of deer while hunting with my phone. Been thinking about investing in a camera of some sort and mount/stand to help with that without having to fiddle with my phone. My first thought was a go pro but haven’t really researched it yet Just wondering what some of you may be using.

You don’t want a GoPro, get a DJI Osmo Action if you want an action camera. These cameras are good for close-up filming, I have a DJI Osmo that I sometimes use when fishing/hiking/driving.
I don’t know what kind of phone you have BUT the iPhone 13 has an awesome camera. The iPhone has a 15x zoom, the action cameras don’t have this. The iPhone battery will last over 8 hours of continuous filming, on the action cameras you’re looking at maybe an hour per battery.
Of course there are various video camera options.
I have a Sony Handycam that I used to film a couple of bowhunts. I purchased a tree arm, a fluid head, etc. After a couple of trips I decided that it was just too much trouble and too much extra junk to tote in and out of the woods.
I now use my iPhone and I’ve filmed a few deer with it this year. Excellent quality, fits in my pocket, and with my Anker power bank (same size as my phone) I can completely recharge my phone 2 times.

I have an iPhone 12 I think. It does well just wanting something with an arm that I can use so I don’t have to put it down if I decide to shoot.
