I got drawn for the SOA hunt at Fred T next weekend. We were gone try and camp but we’ve since changed our minds and going to try and stay in Jackson. Any of y’all know anything about it? Any areas to stay away from?

I think there’s a Hampton Inn on 43. Shouldn’t be any safety issues. Hotel looks fairly new.

Best Western in Jackson is where we always stay. White owned business, super friendly and accommodating staff, and always very very clean. We tell them that we're hunting and they will usually give us a very late checkout on Sunday so we can get out of the woods and pack up.

The Best Western and Hampton Inn are it. Quite a bit run down ones on right side of 43 going South.

We stayed at the Best Western (south end of Jackson next to a Jeep dealership from what I remember) a couple years ago for a softball tournament my daughter was playing in...it was pretty clean and reasonably priced
Hampton Inn (just south of the WalMart) would also be a good one--fairly new

We found a mobile home on air b&b that was south of Jackson and North of the river Bridge. Believe it was $70 night. It had a small skinning shed with power.

Stay at the Hampton and if you don’t see any deer on the hunt just be back at the hotel by 4:45 and shoot one in that field behind it, I saw over 20 a few times last year in January while staying there for work

I can’t find anything on VRBO or AirBNB. Do you happen to have a number?

That may not work. It's listed as the dove lane home.

Jackson has really grown in the past 5 years. Plenty to choose from.

Call ahead to the motels, many are booked solid by PCA as part of their conversion from white to brown paper. There's also a major power transmisson line project that has a lot of electrical contractors in the area.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Maybe I should have put American owned. What I meant by that was there isn’t an indian sitting behind the counter and I have met the owner who happens to be white.

They’ve been working on that ratty little pool for at least six years lol. Other than that everything is great.

My brother always stays at the Best Western when he comes down. Never heard him complain about it. Grab you a burger at Ed’s just right down from the Best Western.

If you do decide to camp, it’s not that bad of a setup there. I did last Jan.
