Heres a weird thought. What if that person who took you to church the first time, or that person who led you to the Lord came clean and told you it was all a sham. What if they told you church was just somewhere they go on sunday morning so they will be known as one of those people who go to church on sundays. What if they told you the Bible was just a story to get children to act the way their parents want them to. Has the Spirit of God been clear and apparent enough in your life, that you could say for certain it is real? Just something i was pondering just now.

Yeah. Alot of it just didnt stick. Seems theres alot of stuff i just always knew and no amount of propaganda has been able to shake it loose. There was some hallucinagenics in the late 90s that made me question a few things. But it seems like as far back as i can remember, i knew God was real and our Govt was out to get us. It just is what it is. Everything else has to fit around that.

If that happened to me I would hate it for them and be concerned for them and prey for them but I can’t see it changing my faith . I’ve saw too much . C S Lewis tried to prove there was no God and in the process became a believer .

As far as what someone says or does it will never change the fact that God loves us and sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins
I’ve seen and heard just about everything over the last 36 years and will not let anyone sway me from the truth
I made to 17 years old before I ever heard about Jesus and had numerous preachers in my family…..how does that happen ???
It taught me one huge truth about faith in God and trusting Jesus as my Savior and that is that it’s all on me and not what someone else says or does

I was actually thinking about my wife. She didnt really grow up living this kind of life. I guess i kindof led her into it about 13 years ago(for lack of better words, because that really isnt a good way to put it). Weve built our life together around the premise that everything will be ok, as long as we do our best to please the Lord with our lives and our marriage. It has worked great. No way we would have made it this far otherwise. She walked in wallago with the groceries and i just wondered to myself what she would say if i told her the whole plan was something i just made up, all a sham. Pretty sure she has seen and felt enough in the past 13 yrs that she could and would honestly say its real for her, regardless of what i say. Im pretty sure shes seen too much to be convinced otherwise. I have too. Theres absolutely no way anyone could convince me what i have isnt real. Theres parts of it that dont always make sense. Sometimes im just hanging on. Sometimes im 100% following one step at a time, trusting the ice dont break with the next step i take. But for 100% certainty, it is real and it is what makes every other part of me what it is.

Just realized I put prey for pray 🤦‍♂️, walker you have a great testimony, spoke though with someone who said their testimony was boring one time because after their salvation they just kinda never got in the ditch and they got saved fairly young . I said that’s a great testimony and everyone’s unique , think of all the heartache you missed by being obedient and what a great example you are .

Some of us are hard headed enough that He provided a “burning bush” moment or two so we will always have something very personal to keep us grounded in Him. No matter what anyone else says. I’m grateful.

I am persuaded in whom I have believed. My faith may waver during life's storms, but He and He alone is still both the Author and finisher of my faith. During times in my life when I've felt as if I was being hung over hell on a rotten rope. Jesus was still just as real to me as he was on March 22, 1992, when I surrendered all to Him. When my wife left me December 3rd, 2015, was the darkest hour of my life thus far. Through the aching in my chest, the tears that flooded my eyes, I cried out "My God, My God, why has Thou forsaken me?" It was the Holy Spirit that brought peace and held me together. Today it is still Jesus and Him alone that I believe. It is not the antichrist in which I look, but a city whose builder and maker is God.

I kinda feel the same way. Organized religion makes me very uneasy. I don’t know why but I figure our creator made me that way so I’ll roll with it. I think back to a discussion on here not long ago about religion vs spirituality.

I believe the Lord is fully capable of reaching a man and showing him exactly what he needs in his life with or without a church. I believe it is good for a christian to put their life in a good bible believing church, but it is nor has it ever been essential for salvation. I think alot about a man stranded on a desert island with no bible, no church, no preacher. You cant convince me God is not fully capable of reaching that man. I believe God can and will do anything. Its us humans who are limited and often we limit Gods abilities in our own lives with our own unbelief.

Ol fellows wife caught him in the attic over the bedroom. She asked him what he was doing. Told her he put his money in a sack over the bed in case he died in his sleep he could grab it on his way to glory. She looked at him and said.... you better put it in the basement.
