The Straycat Special at Golden Rule (It’s called Archie’s now) on HWY 31 is the walking dog. I met Stray there a couple of years ago for lunch and it was outstanding. I ate at little dive in Jackson county near Paint Rock that 2Dogs recommended and it was my favorite so far. Can’t remember the name but it was some store. Teds in Robertsdale has a mighty fine burger. I think that would be Shorty's? Like an old general store?

Three places in Mobile all have a great Cheeseburger:
The Haberdasher (Probably my favorite.) Squid Ink Loda Biergarten
I haven't eaten at the Golden Rule in Irondale in a while, but I've always had a good cheese burger there.
Fast food it has to be Freddy's hands down. Freddy's beats most other burgers in the state. With Mooyah being a close second.
Also I have to say, that I know we are talking about burgers, but if the burger is good, but everything else is crap it really detracts from the burger experience. In this area, The Haberdasher, Mooyah, and Freddy's really shine. I love all their fries. Mooyah and The Haberdasher serve homemade fries as does Golden Rule in Irondale. At Golden Rule, you have to tell them to make the fries extra crispy.
Good advice here. I like all of these as well. Callaghan's is also very good in Mobile. Have you tried it Irish? Oh yeah... I forgot to mention Callaghan's. It was good last time we were in there. By the way, Tuesday night is Irish music night and they usually have a really fun traditional Irish band playing there. That's a fun evening.

Hamburger King, downtown Montgomery. Also got a spot on 231 at Sykes and Cohns between Troy and and Montgomery. Call your cardiologist after eating one. They got a pretty good breakfast sandwich too at the 231 location Where exactly is this located in relation to Sykes & Cohn? I haven’t noticed them before. I believe if you are looking at if from the hwy, 20yd to the left . Pull into Sykes and Cohn, it is that small trailer looking thing to the left side in the parking lot. It may look like no one is there, just pull up, great burgers and a good brisket sandwich.

Black Rock in Jasper has a pretty good ground sirloin burger. They even ask how you want it cooked. This! But everything is good there!
