I have a shoot house on a patch that I would like to hunt in the mornings. My problem is the deer are in the patch all night until around 9am per cell camera. The house is too close to the patch so I know I will be scaring the deer off while going and getting in it. Should I just forget morning hunts or be as quiet as possible and hope they will return?

Be quiet and get there real early. I’d rather bump them in complete dark then them see me.

Whatever you do, you’re gonna run them off and they ain’t coming back. That would be my guess. It’s worth a try, though.

The better play is hunting their trails when they leave the field, if that’s possible without spooking them. Good luck and keep us posted.

I think that is a bad idea. I'd figure out where they go when they leave and set up on that.

Do you have to hunt from the house? Why not set up further from the field?

Go in just after daylight so you can see if a buck is in there.

This is what I would do. Go in the daylight when I can see from afar what is there and go very, very slow. Might shoot one without having to get into the house.

if possible, move the house further off the field so you can enter & exit undetected.. I try to set all mine up this way

This or go in a good hour before dark and use a green or red light and be stealthy as possible. Of course either option assumes wind is in your favor.

Next year I would look at planting sone Egyptian Wheat as a screen to further simplify the problem. A good screen will allow you to slip in almost undetected. A little noise an hour before dark might spook them a little but in my experience they won’t go far at all and will filter back in.

Stay in that warm bed in the mornings and hunt the afternoons.

Thank you all for your suggestions. The concencus is not to hunt it in the mornings. I do plan to move the house and raise it after the season so it doesn't sit right on the patch. Thank you all again

U back it off the patch and always hunt right wind (if u can sneak in and out w out getting detected) - it’s like it never gets hunted - always try to do this if land allows - awesome for low pressure

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self

If you’re cam is showing does first light and bucks later - just go run the does out and get on stand

Why would you use the light in the daylight? Does it confuse them or something?
