Anyone on here a Safeco insurance agent or claims adjuster? I’ve been told by my safeco agent that I can file the ATV that was stolen on my homeowners and they will give me the average of three comps for my area minus my deductible. I’m guessing I’d only get a couple thousand. I asked if my insurance would go up and if so by how much. They said I’d have to file a claim to find out more info. I think that’s crap! If anyone on here is an agent or adjuster can you answer my questions without having to file a claim?

Following.
I'm moving to a new house Friday and my agent has switched my insurance to SafeCo. Wondering how they are with claims.

Was it scheduled on your homeowners? That would determine what property coverage section would pay the claim (either under contents or on an inland marine form attached to your policy).
Was it stolen from your home? If it was not at your home there’s a chance you could have very limited coverage if filing under your contents coverage.
Lots of variables affect whether or not you would get paid on the claim.
Regardless it will show up on your loss history report as a claim being filed. Even if nothing is paid.
Your agent should be able to read your policy and interpret it to their understanding, however it’s ultimately up to the adjusters interpretation of the contract as to what or if the company will pay.
Safeco is a reputable company.
Also, no way to tell you how much your rates would go up for filing a claim.

Thats not true. Safeco is owned by Liberty Mutual. Farmers/Foremost acquired Metlife property casualty I had to call SafeCo 3 times in September and each time they made me call Farmers because they had just been bought.

We had safeco for 15 years. Have always had great service. I would have them now but they wouldnt underwrite our strange temporary living conditions. My parents had safeco for 20+ years and all three of my independent agent friends have safeco. They arent the cheapest but the service and the adjusters they use are top notch. Since they don't spend millions making endless stupid commercials they can offer better service.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
Basscat, you can call me tomorrow and I’ll answer any question you might have to the best of my ability.
Safeco was not bought by Farmers/Foremost. MetLife was and the merger took place in Spring 2021.
Safeco is an absolute ease to work with, claims have been fantastic and one of their property adjusters live here in Helena. I have my personal home with them and highly recommend them.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now

Reassuring to hear this. I was with MetLife when Farmer's bought them and was not happy about it having dealt with Farmer's in the past on a couple of claims through business.
