Funny you mention that doc, cause I've noticed the same thing with salt 🤷🏼‍♂️

Jan 8 ran fever for 12 days. Lost taste and smell completely for a week. Slowly came back over a couple months. Tested positive again Tuesday. Cold symptoms with fever one night. Been fine today. No loss of taste or smell.

Prior to C19 I used salt very little. Now I find myself adding salt to almost everything.

Is that a home test? Showing you have the flu?

It came from my relative's office who is an M.D..
He says I have Covid.

Thanks

It affected me the same way with salt.

Lots of stuff taste extra salty to me.

I don't put any extra salt on anything I eat now.

I never lost either. I got it Dec 23 and have had mild symptoms. My wife also had it with more severe symptoms but she didn’t lose taste or smell either

I lost both for about 5 days. Couldn’t taste a thing. It came back relatively quick but food doesn’t taste as bold to me. Taste bland. Bad for me because I’m catching myself adding more salt than usual.

That’s crazy, because I have experienced the same things.

I’ve been the same way with salt, too.
And peanut butter tastes spicy to me now, like a black/cayenne pepper flavor.
This really pisses me off because a sleeve of saltines and a jar of Jiff has always been my go to snack.
Even Ritz crackers have a strange taste. They taste like smoke.

I’d like to get my hands on the SOB’s that put this shucks on us.

I also can’t stand the taste of Tony’s seasoning now and I have always loved it on everything.

Any type of white sauce makes me nauseous.
From Mayo to Alfredo sauce. Don’t even want to see it and I have never had a weak stomach.

13 months later and this thread made me realize that I haven’t noticed the strange metallic dust smell in a couple of weeks. Maybe it is gone. It wasn’t terrible or anything but it wasn’t pleasant either, just odd.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I lost sense of smell but not taste, that being said when you can’t smell everything taste different. My sense of smell came back over 6 months or so but not everything smells the same as it did pre-Covid

My wife and I lost both taste and smell and it continues now for 7th day. Bacon tastes like salt to us. Cannot smell or taste a banana or peanut butter.

A side benefit is the Vitamin regimen the Lung Dr. gave us is that the daily 325mg aspirin and the B1 (thiamin) seemed to have alleviated swollen and aching finger joints and a pressed nerve in my left foot. We had already been taking the standard vitamin prevention load for the CCP flu.

The infusion (4 shots in the belly) for us was a game changer.

Hope you feel better soon!

Wife and I have been sick for a month. Both of us are vaccinated. Cough all day. Thank goodness we are on vacation.
