Does anyone have any experience with the new style Colorado? I’m a builder and drive a lot. I like the thought of better mileage and still having a truck bed. Tacomas are too high for me so I’m considering a Chevy but have never had one or any other small truck for that matter. Thanks In advance!

One of the guys I hunt with has one and I have not heard a complaint. Pretty sure he is happy with it.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I driven a few 4x4 crew cabs as rentals, and I really liked them. The V6 has good power in that sized truck. Can't speak for reliability, but they drive good, ran good in the interstate, were comfortable and sporty.

This one at Echo Park in Nashville looks pretty nice...

Link to Colorado

This place is where I bought my Ram earlier this year before prices went crazy.

When I was in the building business, I made sure that the truck I drove would haul a bundle of bricks, pallet of mortar mix, few hundred squares of roofing shingles and a few yards of sod. Plus stop the truck when hauling these items to my job sites. I wasn’t really concerned about fuel economy because hauling power to get a job done on time was more profitable than fuel savings. But that’s just me.

I have a buddy that’s in the the landscaping and fence business and he drives a economy compact car on days he designated as measuring jobs. Then a Chevy 2500HD on days that he’s mobilizing a job site. Works out well for him because he’s all over multiple counties daily rather it’s measuring or working jobs.

I haven’t heard anything bad from Colorado owners. I’d also look at a Nissan Frontier truck while you’re at it

I had one of the 2006 models. Worst vehicle I’ve ever owned. 5 warranty claims in 2 years.

King Ford Chevy Dodge in valley did diagnostics on it and said it needed a new chip. 998 dollars later nothing was fixed.

10 months later I get a letter about a faulty throttle cable. Amazing I never got killed in it because it would stall all the time.

I just can’t bring myself to ever buy another Chevy or GMC , or anything from King after that. I basically threw away 1000 dollars.

Dammit man what size truck did you have to haul a few hundred squares of shingles?

Son just bought a 2021 a few months ago and so far he loves his. He had a 05 or 06 before this one and it is much nicer than the older ones. He drives from Millbrook to clanton in it 4 days a week. Said gas mileage is decent for a 4x4. He has no complaints with his.

The wife’s 21 averages around 17 mpg . Gas mileage is not going to be that much different over the full size u mess you go with a 2 wd Colorado think they average around 20 to 21.

I bought new one in 2019. I had it for 6 months, the dealership had it for 3 and 1/2 of those 6 months. I made them buy it back and moved on. A guy at work has one and hasn't had any problems. I guess I just got a bad one. I did like the little truck and the gas mileage was great.

I haven’t driven one yet but the mileage on my 2500hd is about 12 lol. Hoping to nearly double that on road trips. The prices are from what I’m seeing up here in north Alabama is about 14k cheaper than a Silverado dressed out the same way! They are sharp little trucks. Thank you for telling the good and the bad!

Buddy had one (diesel tho) and had the same experience. Had to lemon it. Maybe it was just a bad one, who knows. He now drives a Ram rebel (gas) and likes it. He trades a lot, and doesnt really care about gas mileage tho.

I had an 04 crew cab 4x4. I bought it in 06 with 21k miles and drove it until October 2016 and it had 230 something thousand miles on it when I sold it. Hands down the best truck I've even owned. In 10 years and over 200k miles I replaced the battery once, put a rear window in it (leaking was a known issue), replaced the brakes and replaced the ignition switch that was wore out (also a known issue in the early models).
