Silver, Gold, Mutual Funds, stock - not necessarily in that order - if you can do all, do some of each. Stock give them apple or Facebook/Twitter stock something they know- McDonald coke pepsi Exxon cat. John Deere chevron. A good mutual fund from fidelity - silver bar a half ounce of real gold not a piece of paper
