They were picking a farm called Waylons right there on south side of Hwy 20? That’s Larkin martins operation.

Far from bumper crop on cotton. But we’re blessed to have what we got. Boll Roy hit us for 3-400 lbs in September and early oct as it was trying to open up

I have seen some really good looking thick cotton and some soso. Sometimes in the same field or fields right next to each other. What about the bean harvest? What ive been seeing looks pretty good but not great. I dont know anything about it though

Cotton is deceiving. You are seeing the top crop that’s open and white. We lost the money crop or the lower position bolls like I said. We aren’t complaining it’s still picking around 1000# and at over $1 a pound we can survive. Corn wheat and soybeans were bumper crops though. All said and done a long tough year in 21 but the good lord took care of us all. Got a few guys still lack a few weeks on picking and planting wheat. We’re hoping to be all done by dec 15 anyway

One of my fondest memories is packing a cotton wagon at night with the neighbor gals. 🙃

Goes many different ways. Some sell to a general pool managed by market managers such as staplecotn or autauga cotton association. Some sell to independent brokers such as Allenburg or theres a guy in auburn who is a buyer. I personally like to call my own options and don’t like someone else telling me what I’m gonna get after the fact.

I live in jackson county and my crop check is christmas money and play money lol. Wasn't it around .70 cents 2 years ago. I know last time i looked it was 1.17 this year
You hear about Chandlers losing 105 rolls to fire? Bad deal, far as I know still don't know how it started.
