We are still seeing a lot of fresh scrapes and rubs and it appears that we are seeing a few more bucks during the daylight hours, but the other night one of our members saw 3 nice bucks still hanging out together and have seen no real chasing of does yet. Club is located in Repton. If any one has any reports of nearby areas your info would be greatly appreciated.

The DCNR's report for Monroe County shows that the deer they surveyed were bred between February 14 and March 31 with an average conception date of March 4.

Looks like deer season comes a little early in Monroe County according to the scientific experts at the DCNR.

That may not be too far from the truth. The last two seasons I have hunted there it has just started the last couple of days of the season. With that being said I keep hearing that it may be earlier this year due to how early the scrapes and rubs have started. I did wee a few nice bucks this weekend cruising (it this means anything) but out of range.

I know they tore my place up during the month of February last year. I am in Wilcox on the monroe county line just above Hebert. This year they have started making scrapes a little earlier and hopefully will be chaseing does the rest of the season.

That's what I keep hearing. Nice 8 point killed at our club in Repton this afternoon. Hope it stays this way for a little while. I will not be able to get back till Saturday afternoon.

Bucks are walking and trailing does in South Covington County just above the FL line. Saw 2 nice 8 pts (not quite shooters) following does yesterday afternoon and father in law killed a 19" (inside) 8 pt this morning following a doe in a cutover. Hopefully the warm weather and rain wont shut them down.
