Just wanted to say Thanks for all the advice. Things that came to fruition as warned/advised.

1. Folks showed up in the dark. We are talking 1 1/2 hour before it started. (8:00 till 12:00).
2. Learn to speak Spanish. (Messican's) I did and fluently replied "ocho" when asked a size for a pair of skates. She seemed impressed but did not purchase them.
3. Haggler's, yep I was prepared and caved a little towards the end.
4. Everything was cleaned, priced and on tables. (We borrowed 6 tables from my son's church).
5. Professional re-seller's. They did not waste anytime. Picked thru, purchased and moved on.
6. Yesterday must have been the "Day of Yard sales", they were everywhere!
7. Sold a shotgun shell re-loader in a hurry on FB, had 14 replies in 15 minutes.
8. Had a gun case and FB pulled our ad and had to remove the item. (a-holes).

You guys/gals were correct, a lot of work but we cleared $571. I had never been to one much less participated in one. There is a cult following of yard seller's!

We had a yard sale once and my wife was a pretty good manager of it. She used to be a buyer and had a booth at a nearby flea market, so she had experience.

We did pretty good, but down toward the evening I could see that quite a few things weren't going to sell for the price we had marked on them. I was about to be faced with having to dispose of a lot of stuff we had no further use for.

I started asking people if they were interested in any of that stuff if I would work with them on the price. The look on their faces was priceless when I told them I would pay them $1 if they would take a certain amount of items. Most of them decided to take even more with a deal like that.

I wound up with very few things to dispose of afterwards. grin

I usually just try to give stuff away , even larger bigger ticket items to friends and family , they have done the same for us with stuff we wanted / needed . I can see where a yard sale would be beneficial/ somewhat enjoyable for some and think it’s neat to buy and sell as such . It’s just not for us . I do like the idea of paying ppl to take stuff off .

If your gonna be stupid you gotta be tuff

You should try selling your "walking stick" cabinet on Facebook, gun cabinets aren't in style anymore.
