The japs def know how to get more quality production and it never involves a union at any point They certainly know how to build vehicles that will last. My former company was a tier-one supplier to Honda. They have unions in Japan but it's nothing like it is here. It's basically just a social club after work hours and they don't sit around and tell their employer how to run the business.

Did the unions cause the steel plants to close or government mandate and out sourcing to China? Also it's kind of stretch to say we (USA) live in a capitalist society. Between globalist politicians , unbridled immigration from 3rd world countries, hln1 visa's (or whatever they're called) government subsidies, government mandates, government welfare system etc.maybe all that's still capitalism, but I don't think it can be called free market capitalism.

Jesus man. Give it up. You must be joe Biden’s brother cause you can’t remember from one reply to the next what you’re even saying I don't give up just to appease agitators that use the Lord's name in vain. You haven't added anything of value to this thread, so maybe you should just give it up.

Coal miners' "lifetime" health and retirement benefits were voided by the court. . I hadn’t read all this yet and don’t know much about this situation but this piece here is wrong. That was part of their compensation. I have first hand knowledge that it is NOT wrong and I stand by my statement. Do you really think he was saying the info you provided was wrong?

Me and a babe were riding the dirt roads back there many moons ago in my Jeep and there were a few of those guys standing around working on a railroad crossing and as I crossed the track one of my tires instantly went flat. Stopped and there was a damn railroad spike stuck in it! Completely ruined the tire. I began looking around and those asshats had a bunch of spikes laying all in the road! They wouldn't even help me change the tire or pick up their spikes. I'm sure someone else got a flat too! Total bs! Yeah I never understood punishing people that didn’t have anything to do with what’s going on. Some of the broom wood miners were doing that this year from what I heard.

For a long time I have noticed folks on the side of highway 216 in Brookwood, sometimes in large numbers. Does anyone here know the details? If it’s been discussed here or on the news, I missed it. Anything else you've noticed lately you want to ask about? Like exit wounds on ballistic tips, or which is better for whitetail, a .270 or 30-06?

I have no dog in this fight for I worked for a non union shop in the aerospace industry for 32 yrs....For 32 yrs I prayed for a Union and we almost got one too....until the co, got wind of Union meetings at the Hotel up the street from the plant....after it all washed out around 15 folks that were the main ones talking up the Union magically got promoted into supervision, lead line rolls, and even a couple went into mngmt....2 people got walked out for talking about it on co time....after that coorporate flew down and gave us all a little bump in pay and a week off with pay at Christmas and 2 extra PTO days per year... ( thing about is the other facilities were already getting those benefits and some of those shops were Union... ).....Anyway...folks came out of that meeting and Union talks were done.......They forgot all about the Union...Year after year I went thru layoffs and watched good folks and workers lose their jobs in layoffs and several folks with many many more yrs of experience than a lot they kept(Buddybuddy system)...Thats where Unions come in...They doubled our health care premiums twice in 5 yrs and worse coverage....Thats where Unions come in.....The last yr we were in business we sent coorporate a 70 million dollar check....CLEAR PROFIT......then they took the covid bail out money, shut our doors and let around 250 people go and I guarantee you half the folks in there had around 20 to 35 yrs service with a pension and 401k...THATS WHERE A UNION WOULD HAVE BEEN HANDY...They Packed our equipment, tools benches and moved our work out West and hired a bunch of temps to replace us-lol....Got a call a week ago the co, wants all us former employees to fly out to Tempe for 6 months,37 bucks a hr, all the OT you want(time and a half) and pay for all food and Lodging.... Not. one. person. signed. up. Bastards....

A non union shop will outproduce a union shop 8 days a week. This has been proven time after time. Anyone who thinks “rich investors” are the largest problem at the mines in question are uninformed or worse. Most “UMWA Contracts” stipulate 95-100% medical coverage with little to none employee paid portions. Those cost have gone up 500% since Obama. Most businesses operate of a net margin less than 12%. Insurance cost alone can erode this number significantly. Business have had to get creative in order to still offer good benefits yet still turn a profit. There’s only so much money you can squeeze from a turnip. I have friends on both sides of the Shoal Creek Mine contract negotiations so I’m not making assumptions based on just one side of the argument. Union guys absolutely tend to forget some of these things. Just like the MSM the union controls ALL communication to the miners. Take that how ever you want.
UPS is a union company and I don't see anyone out producing them. So this doesn't hold water. And UPS employees pay zero for their insurance. I guess if other non-union companies had the intelligence of the people running UPS they could be profitable and have their insurance paid. That obviously aint happening for most of y'alls companies you work for. Well you haven’t been watching too closely. UPS just recently sold their freight division. It’s just a matter of time before the unions strangle the package side of ups. FedEx can operate at a fraction of the cost that ups can but they were content with the extra revenue. Once Amazon gets their delivery service operating nationwide then ups will go the way of yellow freight, ups freight and other union trucking companies.
