Anyone have a recent report on the Unit 1 water level by chance? Trying to decide if we’re going the two days after Christmas.

The entire place needs 6” of water, there are only small pockets to hunt right now. Didn’t see anything but wood ducks in unit two last weekend. We heard unit one shoot a decent amount - 6 or so volleys, we got 4 woodies in unit 2, I think unit 3 shot once.

I’d say it needs at least another foot. Inexcusable, incompetent, and pathetic. I won’t be wasting my time after a little scouting run. Jackson County could be SO great for public land duck opportunities and it is like Bruce Parks has explicit blackmail images of Chuck Sykes and a gay Mexican midget.

Anyone have an idea how much the water may have risen after the past few days?

I’m sure a decent amount, there have been 3 or so good rains this week. What zone will you be hunting? Zone 2 had huntable water when I was there 2 weeks ago. I’ll be in zone 1 in 2 weeks so hopefully it’s come up a decent amount in the past few days.

Unit 1 was a bust this morning. Weather and water were great - knee deep and 25 degrees, sunny.

We only saw a few and didn’t see a duck after 7:00.

Any luck today? Did y’all hunt the middle hole, millet field, or Tupelo swamp?

You may be on to something. Here’s Chuck enjoying a nice morning with Bruce.

Better than the magical crow creek SOA. Saw maybe 6 ducks this morning and 5 of them were just flying by at altitude. Maybe they can share their leftovers.

Birds ain’t in there, but I know where they are. My Duck hunting partner has been killing them fairly well while I’ve been chasing these dumb deer.

I ain’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, but it is never very difficult to add 2+2 and get 4 when it comes to Chuck Sykes. He don’t even try to hide most self-serving and/or benefiting the elite only kinda things he does…..off the backs of the people that actually pay his salary. Nothing but a politician in state biologist clothing.

That was my thought. All that money and prep and a ringer beatdown is the result. Seemed like they did really well last year. Wonder what the difference is this year.
