Just wanted to verify this is a persimmon tree. We have very few and have seen 2 loaded this year. Wanted to verify since I’ve only seen a couple in person. Tiny little trees.

Yep, I have 2 in my yard that are seedless. I had to prop up all the branches I could since they were breaking off. I usually get 400 bags of pulp off of that tree a year before I quit.

I’m guessing they are the American persimmon? The leaves are pretty unique with that staining coloration. I’ve noticed some very tiny saplings in the past with the stain leaves like that but couldn’t tell what they were at that young stage

They loaded this year. Everything is. Deer aren't gonna have to travel much to get full.

I’ve only seen a couple that actually had fruit during season. I’ve never seen a deer around them. I’ve had much better luck killing bucks under white and swamp chestnut oaks.

They may be dropping and the animals will be eating them but I wouldn’t try one until after a frost if I were you.

Ours here at the office don't have the first fruit. Dunno why?

We have one back in a hollow. So big you can't reach around it. Had an old logger tell us it's the biggest one he had ever seen. He'd been logging 60 years.

If it's sound and of good grade it would be some beautiful wood .

A small percentage of the trees will be very dark wood, sometimes black streaks giving it a lot of character. Persimmon is the only member of the Ebony family that grows in N America.
