On a side note, getting a summer cold or flu is awful. I've had them a couple of time and they arent easy to get rid of. As much as I sweat and work in this heat, I wonder how these types of bugs would be in the winter time. Nothing worse than a stomache bug in july and August either.

Oh I'd love to go home for the day but my boss says it's all a hoax and told me to stay here and work. If someone else gets it here then I guess that's on him.

That was my experience: runny nose followed by loss of smell/taste. Other than those symptoms I’d never have known I had it.

I’d bet a dollar to a donut you have it.

And like the other person said, I’m not crazy about masks and vaccines and everything, but I’d for sure stay away from folks.

Your boss is opening a can of worms when it comes to liability if he forces you to stay and potentially expose others. Whatever his belief is - fair or foul - in today’s society, that’s not very smart

Is a runny nose a covid symptom?

For some ppl it’s the first symptom they have and almost the only symptom until they lose their olfactories a few days later.

Whatever happened to stay home and away from coworkers if you are sick? Forget COVID, just the basic idea is what I am referring to.

About the only "common cold" symptom that is not a symptom of covid is sneezing.

Sounds like the perfect day to work closely with the boss. Go to lunch with him, get some good quality time together.

The practice of staying home when sick has become more uncommon for two reasons I think.

One, there have been folks who would call in sick who were not actually sick but just wanted to take the day off for whatever reason. So, now they require a dr's note if someone calls in sick and some don't have the funds to pay out of pocket to go to the doctor so they just come as they are, contagious or not.

Two, there are those who don't want to lose income if they do not have sick days.

I’d hate to know I was that selfish and caused someone to die.

That’s not on your boss. He’s an idiot but not the biggest one.

Are you suggesting that someone quit their job over being told to stay at work or come to work even if they are sick?

Almost same thing happened to my family. One of my sons puked multiple times and the other had a fever with alot of snot. I had snot with a bad headache and lost my smell and taste. Me and the wife took ivomectrin and hydroxycloriquine. We are all back to 100 percent. Even got my smell and taste back today. Daughter didn't catch it yet anyway.

Common courtesy was gone before Covid got here.

The same folks out there griping about masks mandates, business shutdowns, etc….. are the same ones spreading it to everyone else when they got lucky and had mild symptoms so they just continued life as normal so not to inconvenience themselves. We are our own worst enemy.

That has always been the policy for pretty much any potentially contagious illness. Stay home and get better so you dont get anybody else sick.
