What would be the repercussions of our boys saying screw the orders and going back to get stranded Americans, etc.

They would be prosecuted and spend time in jail.

It’s been 31-years since I served, but the military isn’t like the movies where a group of people take it upon themselves to right a wrong. There is a chain of command and people WILL follow it.

Court martial - failure to follow superior’s orders. Pretty serious offense.

They will follow orders even when they know it’s 100% wrong.

Rob Terkla aka lunkerstv mentioned getting a group of ex military/contractors together and going over. Some of those guys are pretty well off, but he said the logistics and cost are just too great.

It sounds great, but that isn't going to happen without orders from the top.

The ones of us that have been there know its not gonna happen. This isn't the movies. Second thing is soldiers are trained to follow orders. Thats how you keep soldiers alive. Discipline.

Well if you go by the UCMJ there’s 3 categories of disobeying orders.

The punishment is dependent on how they charge you but for what you’re stating that charge would most likely be dereliction of duty.

For dereliction of duty through neglect or culpable inefficiency, the maximum punishment is forfeiture of two-thirds pay per month for three months and confinement for three months.

For a willful dereliction of duty, the maximum punishment is a bad-conduct discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement for six months.

It’s under article 92 of the UCMJ.

What 231 said. The problem with military operations when higher ups are covering their asses is, they are looking for a lower ranking officer or an NCO to blame their failures on.

The NCO is always to blame because they're the ones doing it.

What you’re going to see over the next few weeks is this:

Little birdie on a wire has informed me that now the Pfizer is FDA approved that the Army will start issuing Article 15’s if you don’t get vaccinated. That’s going to be ugly

Doubt there will be many who refuse. They get shots all the time and just like in Kabul, they will follow orders.
