Stop for a moment and reflect on some of our blessings.
Myself, I'm not good looking, or have above average intelligence, nor am I wealthy according to American standards. I do however have decent health and pretty much everything I need to get by.
I said SOME of our blessings because I don't believe any of us can ever comprehend just how many times we are blessed without even having an inkling of an idea about what has transpired in our favor.
I grew up in a family that had what I considered a drunk for a father who would either turn mean when he drank assorted liquors or turn into a crying drunk when he consumed way to much beer. Even in that I always felt loved. Momma always had my back and so did my older brother and sister. Even Dad wasn't so bad when he was sober. They split up by time I started 1st grade.
I kinda thought I had a rough time as a kid but actually I had it pretty great compared to some of the other kids I knew from school. I have experienced a few things I thought was tough as an adult also but it's just like as a kid, I'd get to looking around and realize that my problems are minuscule compared to others.
Now I have a wonderful wife of 34 years, 3 kids, 4 if you count the granddaughter we raised, and a whole slew of kids that are just like our own from back when we did foster care. Several of them still call us Mom and Dad. We have enough grandkids to fill up a good sized van. I have a few TRUE friends also. We don't have a note on our home or land, we have a good assortment of toys that includes a boat, 3 campers at assorted places, a nice shop, tractor, hunting and shooting equipment, a Ranger sxs, decent vehicles, and a whole lot more that I didn't name. I could go on and on but won't bore you any further with it.
But the most impressive blessing is the promise of everlasting life and love that all we have to do is to claim. It's there for the taking. If you haven't made a claim to it for yourself, time is running out. But not to worry, a reservation has been made just for you. You only need to respond to the invitation.
