Yes our side door is split and I've came home to many times to see the top part open... after my last power bill I'm about to start busting a$$ here...

I used to feel the same way. Then, after one of our major hurricanes, we were without power for quite a while. I promised myself I would never get bent about such issues anymore.

Doing it all wrong. Leave lights and doors open. You cut grass. Second time I take all electronics. There is never a third time

I enjoy walking up to the open side door and feeling the cool air rush out. If millions of people opened left their doors open it may cool the summers off by a few degrees.

I think this is why my ol lab lays right by the door so she can cool off when kids are around

I’ve told my wife our next house is going to have auto-closures on all exterior doors and motion activated lights. I’m the only one in my house that knows how to close a dang door and turn off a light.

Our adopted daughter wouldn't shut the laundry room door to save her life...so I pulled her bedroom door off the hinges and told her that until she learned to shut the door to the hottest room in the house (which is right next to the AC thermostat) her room wouldn't have a door. Can't shut the laundry room door, you don't have to worry about shutting your bedroom door.
My oldest daughter kept leaving her bedroom and closet lights on...I told her one day that next time I found her lights on and she wasn't in the room, I was pulling the bulbs out. Sure enough, she left her lights on and was outside playing...out come the light bulbs. When she and her roommate decided to get an apartment in Tuscaloosa, I told her that I'd help her out on rent but power, cable, etc was on her. Didn't take long for her to figure out that a light switch has an on and off position

I just put some hi dollar storm doors with a strong pneumatic hinge on both front and back doors just to stop this crap. It solved my problem around here, I Have not had an issue with open doors since.

My wife will leave every light in the house on when she leaves but insists we turn the Keurig off every morning because it burns electricity to leave it on. Hell if I know why some folks are wired the way they are.

Same stuff at my house. Even back when my dad was alive and he and my mom lived with us in my last house: we’d be watching tv and I’d hear noise and say what is that? My dad would say, that’s the tv in my bedroom. That man used to follow me around the house turning stuff off behind me so I guess this was just payback. ROFL … I miss that man, I’d be happy to pay some extra power bills to see him again.
