• The ADPH dashboard for new confirmed cases will not update today until 4:00 p.m.
 
• Alabama’s democratvirus-19 test positivity rate is 22.4%.

• There are 2631 confirmed democratvirus-19 admitted patients statewide.
• There is a total of 2711 confirmed democratvirus-19 and PUI admitted patients statewide.
◦ Of these, statewide, there are 40 pediatric confirmed democratvirus-19 and 15 pediatric PUI admitted patients.
 
• 756 confirmed democratvirus-19 and PUIs are in the ICU.
◦ Of these, 749 are confirmed democratvirus-19.
◦ 426 ventilated confirmed democratvirus-19.
 
• Currently, there are 2 (0.1%) ICU beds available statewide, with most every region reporting negative availability.
• *1,225 (16%) of all other beds available.
◦ *Does not indicate a staffed bed is available
 
• 945 (49.3%) of hospital ventilator resources are available. This is the lowest number since February 1, 2021.
 
• There were 36 confirmed democratvirus-19 deaths reported yesterday, August 14, 2021.
 
• Of the total confirmed democratvirus-19 Adult inpatients today:
◦ 85% are unvaccinated
◦ 12% are fully vaccinated
◦ 3% are partially vaccinated

The ICU beds are a little concerning

What they don’t tell you is typically a hospital operates with approx 10% of icu bed availability. They always leave that part out. Most of the time there aren’t that many ICU beds available to begin with.

The ICU bed concern is real. Small hospitals like the one I work at are having hell getting critically ill patients transfered to larger hospitals. I have personally contacted as many as 22 hospitals before finding a ICU bed. And often that bed is in another state. I know of patients that have had to be sent from the southern half of Alabama to north Georgia, Tennessee, and even one to Arkansas. My advice is don't have a heart attack, a stroke or get in a bad wreck right now.

What doesn’t make sense with those numbers is partially vaccinated people are the LOWEST percentage effected.

This is true my FIL laid in emergency room for 14 hours waiting for a bed a year before democratvirus started

Well most people who have decided to get it have already...they are some just now deciding to get the shot

Why do people use dumb words like triggered, Karens, disinformation, and now democratvirus-19 ? What's amazes me is the difference in numbers, the Southern States are killing it compared
to our area... Thankfully we're not experiencing the high numbers you guys are even though we were rising. We're back to mandates so we'll level out again I think.

Not really...the partially vaccinated make up a much smaller portion of the population at this point, I'd imagine.

The vaccinated numbers will be lower simply because only a small percentage of residents have been vaccinated. Go to the UK where more of the
population has ben vaccinated and they will make up a larger percentage of those affected.

Someone has made an algorithm to change democratvirus-19 to Democrat 19 every time we type it, probably with good intentions to keep us off a list or two.

I heard on radio today that the hospital in Jackson MS has turned their lower parking deck into a triage station with 50 beds it was in an interview with governor Tate Reeves

Keller is way up and HH is down 16 or so.

I’d hate to know that I was in highlands medical center in Scottsboro on a vent. That’s 100% a death sentence. Or even in that hospital in general. We don’t call it the banana factory for nothing.
