Please help me troubleshoot a Polaris Ranger 2011 800 crew that I bought used. It runs well for about 3/4 of a mile. Then, it starts surging almost like the parking brake is on. I have checked the parking brake. That isn't it. It is in working order. I have replaced the CVT belt. I have replaced the fuel pump. I have emptied the full tank and put good non-ethanol fuell in it. What should I try next?

Was it doing that before you replaced the belt?

Yes. I thought it could be a belt issue. That is why I replaced it.

Sounds like the clutch faces glazed over, did you scotch brite the clutch plates when you replaced the belt?

No. But, I didn't notice any grime on the clutches, and the old belt had no wear.

If it's the engine surging , it could be the fuel vapor locking. I ran a marine compartment fan with a dryer vent for fresh cool air to blow on mine. Solved the problem. This hot weather we having will cause this. Don't know if this is your trouble.

Need to scuff the faces of the clutch plates, that allows the new belt to seat to the clutches.

Search YouTube for Partzilla video on replacing belt, very good video.

Was having same problem with my 2015 900xp and this solved my problem.
