My oldest girl is almost 15, her mother isn’t the best in the world on giving her “her” money when they go somewhere. She stays with her more than me, but I try and pay most of the way when she does something. Well, they went to PCB last weekend and I gave her momma $400 for her and her sister to have money to do things, she took them “including my ex mil” out to eat every night and done what she wanted per day. So I’m wanting to get my daughter a credit card that I can control and put money on as I see fit for her to use. Any suggestions on which card?? Thanks
A friend, the Bible and a banker will get you though about anything.

Just open her a starter checking account with a debit card. I did it for my kids at 15 so they could start learning a little about money management and see just how fast it goes away when you’re stupid. Started out with small deposits and made them use it to maintain school lunch accounts and stuff on their own and use it for want they want. Waste all your money, and you better not want lunch. The deposits get bigger as responsibility gets better and you earn more by doing chores or working at the shop. 6 months after you finish school, the deposits don’t come from me anymore, it’s all up to you.

We have a check card for our 16 year old son, that’s tied to our online banking, so we can deposit money as needed. It’s a separate account from ours but we can transfer money in, or out (depending on how irresponsible he may be being, if needed), from our account.

Get her one tied to your account with a low limit. That way you can monitor the activity and places it’s being used. You kill two birds with one stone. You get to make sure that she has the funds to do what she wants and it also lets you also have some parental oversight since you are no longer with them full time. Dang sure better than giving cash to you ex.

Be and sure tell her it is off limits from her mama. The mama may still do as she pleases with said card. If that is what you're worried about.

Very easy and it’s an instant transfer

All my accounts are with Fidelity. I would open them an account and give them a debit card and fund as needed. You'll know exactly where the money was spent and can fund it with a click of a button.
