I posted a couple weeks ago regarding trying to get our Honda Rancher running better. No luck doing it on my own. Do any of y'all know of a place we could take it between Winfield and Hamilton?

Probably needs carb work. Always been a little cold natured, but now, if I can even get it to crank, dies as soon as you give it gas. Always gets ethanol-free gas. New spark plug and air filter didn't help. Old air filter was a complete mess and we suspect crap got into the carb.

If it was me, I would take the carb off, and disassemble it and get a paint can of the carb solvent from an autoparts store and soak it for several hours. Clean and blow out all the jets while its soak, and then blow out all the passages in the carb body before you reassemble it.

That is what I did with my Polaris. I had to replace my carb and got a used factory one off ebay. I put a rebuild kit in it, and installed it. Thing wouldn't run for nothing. Did what I said above, and boom, cranked right up and has run like a top ever since. I use ethanol free gas too, but just because you buy that doesn't mean that's what was in the tank.

A new carb on Amazon is less than $50. I have done several like this and it is the most cost effective way to go. Most are a couple of bolts and you are done.

Just put one on my rancher last week. Takes maybe 30 minutes.

Ghostrabbit is up there somewhere if he is still around. He works on them.

Ghost Rabbit is 2 1/2 hours east of Winfield.
