How is the hunting east of Thomasville, Al? I have a chance to get in on a lease in the area and was just curious. I saw a thread on Wilcox around Pine Hill and looks to be alot of Poachers. Is that the same in this area? Pretty close.

Scyrene/Dickinson community ? You should be fine, maybe an isolated problem but not widespread as the other areas mentioned. Know a guy who killed an absolute stud there several years ago, 150+ if I remember correctly.

The further away from Lower Peachtree the better. If your not on that loop then you SHOULD be ok. It all depends on what locals live close and are they outlaws.

From Brilliant, AL? That’s a long way for mediocre deer hunting. IMO, I’d be looking real hard for something a lot closer.

So Thomasville is just Mediocre? Yea I moved further south to the coast. I was hoping for at least average of 130" deer.

Just comparing to an hour circle around Brilliant, yeah. If you are on the coast, around here is an upgrade I guess. Thomasville is plenty safe.

Agree w Hamma

I hunt Tville and like it - you can hav problem anywhere. I would consider it safe - I hav seen 130s on some of my buddies cameras - I had a mid to high 120s first year I was in the place I in now - clicked on his running buddy while he was back in woods - hav not seen either of them since

It’s not the top area in Bama but it pretty decent

Properties that average 130" on bucks are very few and far between anywhere in Alabama. They are definitely around but you're going to be hard pressed to find any place (other than large private land or super high end, large acreage, low member clubs) in Bama where a 130" is an average buck. A 130" buck is a dang good deer and probably 90%, or more, of the people hunting in Alabama have never even seen or killed a buck that will score 120". I wish I had a $ for every "130" I've put a tape on for people, that turned out to be a 110" deer when the numbers were added up. There's good hunting around Thomasville but you wont find a place where the bucks you see during a season will average out to 130".

FIFY for you hamma.

I think most folks use the same tape measure to score a deer that they use to measure their peckers.
