Can someone school me on reloading. I only want to reload 270 for deer hunting. I only need to do 20-30 per year. I don't want to tinker and try different amounts of powder to gain 0.25" of accuracy. I want to put the EXACT same thing together over and over. 1) Are those Lee Loaders to do 1 at a time worth buying? https://leeprecision.com/lee-loader-270-win.html2) What do I need to buy or not buy. - brass (which ones, how much $) - primer (which ones, how much $) - powder (what powder?) - bullets (which ones, how much $) (I never shoot over ~200 yards, I want good pass thru for blood trail, but decent mushrooming) Other questions: Where do I buy this stuff? Does power last forever, or should I plan to buy new stuff each year? (primers?) I would probably like to make ~100 to start. Any chance them not shooting well in my rifle? (Ruger American, TC Venture, A-Bolt) Any tips, cautions, etc? Do you care if there is any space between the power and the bullet? How do you prevent this?

First thing I would buy is a quality loading manual, like this one from Lyman. https://www.amazon.com/Lyman-50th-Reloading-Handbook-Hardcover/dp/B01HH08L1A It doesn't have all the load data you will need, but will give you a very good place to start with how it's done. You can buy the lee loader and be OK. You will quickly want to upgrade to a single stage press, so I would just start there. Powder and primers if kept in a cooler dark place, free from wild temperature fluctuations and humidity, will last indefinitely. I know there are people out there still shooting surplus powder that they used to buy in a paper bag from a 55 gallon drum.

I don't know anyone who loads (including myself) that doesn't use a press. I would think it would be difficult to get consistent precision with a hammer. Also, I like the Lee crimping die and you must have a press to do that.
Of course, this is just my opinion and you may get decent enough accuracy from that setup.
As far as supplies go, it used to be far more economical to load than it is currently. Everything is high and you will need all of what you just listed.
Buy it online, Midwest, Midway, and many other retailers have these items.
I've got some powders that are 15 years old and work fine.
Tips / cautions ? Go by a manual. Max specs exist for a reason in regards to head spacing, powder amount, max pressures , etc. Be safe.
There's always a chance of them not shooting well. This is what forums help with the most in my opinion. People with the same gun with roughly the same tolerances will often shoot the same loads well. Or not well. But this is not ironclad.
It doesn't hurt to have a gap between the bullet and powder. A round typically takes more slower burning powder than fast burning powder and therefore will take up more room in the round.
Fyi - most loaders now days do so for accuracy reasons or to tailor make a round for a specific use. Not so much for saving piles of money. Though you will save money if you shoot a lot. If you don't then it will take a while to recoup that money.

If your plan is to only load 20-30 rounds per year, and considering the availability of 270 ammo...........stick to buying off the shelf ammo. It will not be worth the $$, the time spent gathering components, and the effort spent to learn and load at home. With components difficult to find and higher than normal component pricing......IMHO you will be better served to buy your 270 loaded by the box.

I’ll go a different direction altogether and recommend Cooper Creek Custom Ammo. They offer a 3 stage load development pack to fine tune a hunting load that your rifle will love. I’ve done this for 2 different rifles just for chits n giggles and their system works flawlessly. It looks like they are out of stage 1 for 270Win right now but if you call them they will put you on the list. Great people to deal with. Cooper Creek ~ load development packs

If you decide you want to give one of those Lee set a try, I have one for 270 I'll send you for the cost of shipping. Just keep in mind, they only neck size the case so you can't shoot the ammo you load with it in multiple guns.

If all you are loading is 20-30 rounds a year, find someone to load it for you.

Very much appreciate that, I am just learning and trying to decide what I am going to do.

Lee Loaders work well.... however they are sort of a mountain man, doomsday prepper, off-the-grid tool at this point IMIO. A Lyman 310 will also work. You just can't do any sort of serious loading on one of these. They are useful for keeping a box of 50 rounds alive in the absence of an actual reloading press and better equipment.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Get RCBS starter kit, and a good reloading manual. Like other folks recommed you will be better off buying factory ammo. I dont thank you will be happy with the lee loader. You have very little flexability. Will half to use a dipper to measure your powder. Will be hard to us different loads to try out. I have been reloading for over 40 years Good Luck

I don't really reload for top notch accuracy (though I do have loads that shoot damn good in my rifles). I usually quit looking when I can consistently get 1" groups. I also don't reload to save money, though I do kinda save money. I spen a lot more on loading components and equipment than I ever would have just buying factory ammo. I do have a pile of components on hand that I've picked up here and there and could load for years if I stopped buying now.
I load to be as self sufficient as possible. So I don't have to depend on anyone else to keep me shooting/hunting/protected. That sounds like it could be the reason you want to start. You could always lay in a supply of factory loads as you can find them at a fair price, AND get a Lee loader, a few hundred primers and a pound of something like 4350 or 4831, just in case you can't buy what you need.
May the sound of hounds never die!

Whether you shoot a lot or not there is some prudence in having the ability to make ammo when you need it. Truth here. Reloading has kept me shooting weekly for the last year. Haven't missed a week. Going again tomorrow. Its a skill worth having.
