This was my first duty weapon as a police officer. Loved that gun. Let me get my monthly bills paid and see where I stand. We traded them in for Berettas and I was too poor to buy mine back for next to nothing. A regret I have to this day. Ours were stainless. is this one blued?
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Actually, I think ours were called Ruger Police Sixes, with the stainless being the only difference. Pretty sure you had the service six. I'm found of the speed six myself. And the security six is a fine revolver as well.

And the security six is a fine revolver as well. They had “police” in the name somewhere. I do remember that. If I can come across one I’m going to snatch it up. Of course getting my hands on the actual one I carried will be a miracle, but it is out there somewhere. I just wish I had the $100 that we could have bought them back for at that time. I’ve got the Beretta and Glock I carried so it would e nice to have the Ruger in order to have all my duty weapons. I’ve still got the speed loafers and pachmyer grips. All I need is the gun. Fine shooting and reliable weapons. Someone will enjoy this one!

100 was a bargain and a half even for a used one back when prices weren't insane (a year and a half ago or so).

Not that I'm wealthy but it is hard to believe that $100 was big time money to me then even though I pissed away more than that at the Tally Ho on a regular basis.
