Look awesome in gel. Tui is tumble on impact and while it's a gimmick idea it works well enough to make a .243 a legit Elk caliber. Thoughts?

Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.

I mean, you can get a perfectly clean kill with an FMJ, but why risk it? I’d stay with the tried and true rounds.

Also, most states mandate “center-fire mushrooming ammunition” for deer and elk. I haven’t seen any post-shot closeups of the rounds but I doubt they mushroom.

Tumbling bullets can’t be relied on to consistently do anything.....penetrate, exit, cause damage, not veer off line in an animal. I’d be afraid of ending up with a gutshot elk from a rib deflection, with no blood trail......but these are just my personal suppositions.

I would probably just go for an eye shot with a .22 Hornet and forget all the tumbling bullet BS.
