Topsail was always our favorite down there. We would go when our kids were young during Thanksgiving. The snowbirders loved us because we were the only young people there then.

If this is what I'm thinking about, they started this at least 3 years ago. But during the off season, like November to May, they don't charge. It's 5 dollars for 4 hours of parking.

Gomer this isn’t directed at you because I don’t know you’re personal situation, a lot of guys I work with say that it’s so much cheaper. I don’t really understand that logic because you have to pay that payment every month and after a while when they sell them they complain about not being able to get their money back out of it. Most of them have basically brand new 5th wheels.

Most RVs are financed for 15 years (unsure of your friends options) so the first 3-5 years your payment is heavily loaded on the interest side so you literally have paid back down to the original purchase price on the RV thus not being able to get money back like they think they should.
JohnG is right something had to be done. I expect both cities to crack down heavily on the parking issue. Same thing happens at boat ramps. Launch boat and leave truck all week. Seems pretty normal way of thinking but it;s just reached the too crowded point on many fronts down here!

Yeah that logic doesn't really hold up as well for these folks that went and bought a $40,000 RV and financed it for 18yrs.......................but we bought a $2500 pop-up...paid cash. Literally 2 trips in a condo would more than pay for the pop-up.

The last time we went to the state beach in GS we had to pay for the parking. I think that was 2 years ago. It was a machine like that. I think it printed out a ticket that you stuck on your dash.

The city owned parks have had pay to park for a few years now. But not state parks on the beach. I understand the overnight parking problem with the condo vacationers, but there’s has to be a way for all of us that utilizes the state park beach that aren’t staying at GSSP to park with out being penalized because of real estate rental companies that don’t provide adequate parking for their customers. Most of the time when we go is in the evening to watch the sunset.
