Been there 3 times. Tagged out every year. Last year it was very crowded and really had to work for them. Prior years not as tough. I hunt around Ft Lenonard Wood area. Same as any Public land around here. Hunt hard. Get off main roads. You will here turkeys . Missouri birds love to gobble.

Mark Twain is spread out all over the eastern/central ozarks, so it kind of depends on where your going. Some areas you can be on your own, some are busy with out of towners, and other areas get hammered by locals. It just depends on where you are.

“But I always been lucky when it comes to Killing”

Just thought we needed a Clint Eastwood quote up in here 😀

Seriously - to what u said deerman - my buddy that use to tag out at M-Twain said that was his secret - get way back off beaten path to kill turkeys - I used that same tactic successfully when Kinterbish and demopolis WMA was available to me

It can be some good hunting and is beautiful country. I have been for the last 5-6 years and always killed my birds but it is difficult at times. It got absolutely hammered last year with COVID so I’m going elsewhere this year. Good luck and I’m sure you will have a great time
