I haven’t heard anything about this on major news networks, happened in February. Makes me sick how nonchalant this guy was in executing the officer. Prayers lifted for his family and co-workers and all of law enforcement who deal with these idiots day in and day out.

I am not sure that tint too dark would be a battle I, personally, would choose to fight as a patrol officer even though I know why there is a limit to how dark it can be and stay legal according to the laws on the books. But, criminals give no damn about laws or they would likely not be involved in criminal activities to begin with and not complying with tint percentage is the least of the things to worry about in terms of criminal activity in my opinion. Personally, I think they should just make the tint that is darker than legal for all windows only available to professional window tint installers and then fine the installers if they apply tint that is too dark where it should not be according to the law.

The criminal was supposed to be on his way to a drug deal in Las Cruces, NM and knew he was toast. I have the utmost respect for L.E.O.’s and to have to approach a vehicle not knowing what you are facing is tough duty on a daily basis. I am

The article said something like “how did he purchase a gun with a extensive criminal record” - some people won’t ever get it - they actually think gun laws could prevent criminals from getting guns and stuff like this happening. They really are too stupid to realize it will just make it worse.

These and others are legit reasons to pull somebody over and take a peak into their world. Don’t want a cop in your business? Stop blowing your money on dope, drink, or other stupid stuff and keep or drive your vehicle in line with the regulations. Want to run the risk that a madly hoping tire at 65 or that drag to the side when you step on the breaks won’t get any popo attention? Then go for it baby. But man up when you get caught by the man for being too stupid to keep your crap straightened up.

That ridiculous traffic stop could get a person off the streets who could possibly harm or even worse kill someone or someone’s family. As said earlier, you have no idea what a burnt light can turn into. The stop may seem unnecessary to you but not to someone who is in the profession to protect and serve. It’s just one of many tools we have in our tool box.
