Shot an 8 pt this morning looked like good placement. Got down found no hair but a drop of blood and 3 more drops down trail but no blood smeared on brush as he ran down trail. Lost blood on trail and blood was only visible small drops 50 feet apart or so.u

If you cant see where it ran start from last point go about 30 yds and start a sweeping search. If somebody has a good dog to trail it that would be better. Ive also found several by going to the nearest water source .

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Ever have that little sign of blood and made a good placement? I was expecting blood all over the brush as he ran.

I shot a deer once and had great shot placement. Deer ran and didn't leave a single drop. Luckily she didn't run far. When I found her she had just a couple of drops coming out of her nose, but other than that, none at all.

I've shot them straight through both shoulders and never found a drop of blood. Luckily on both I saw where they ran and was able to find both of them by tracking them in sandy soil. There's no shortage of deer dogs in NW FL so find one and go look.

FM if it is a high lung shot it will take time for lungs to fill with blood to leave good trail when going down hill but he will hunt thicket and or water. use toilet paper to mark trail(rain will destroy it). go to last blood and LOOOOOK. Sometime they will turn leaves over while running. Also look UNDER bushes. (remember he is pushing the bushes over whill moving and the blood will be UNDER the leaves.) good luck.

(UPDATE) Well I never found him. Shot him yesterday am @ 0700 and only a few drops of blood and when I returned after 12 the drops were dry and not visible, but looked long and hard. This morning I saw a large set of tracks going to my food plot and where he crossed road I saw a single drop of blood. This food plot is in the other 40 acres adjoining the 40 he was shot on. Could this be him, or could it possibly be that this one was in a fight and dropped blood? Do does bleed like a woman on menstrual cycle and buck was following her blood?

Its probably your deer. Unfortunately, if it is your deer he is not hurt bad or he would not be going to a food plot. I would spend a little time looking in that direction, maybe even on the other side of the food plot.
