I won't say John Emerald is the worst I ever had, but both my son and I were considerably underwhelmed when I got some as a gift. He served the remainder of the bottle as mixing whiskey at the lake. I then read a fair number of positive reviews on Aldeer, and decided it must have been an early batch with spotty QC. Bought another bottle. Served it as mixing whiskey at the lake. No accounting for taste.

Worst whisky.
My wife brought me a big bottle of Bowmore that tasted like they pulled charred embers from the campfire to use instead of ice cubes! Couldn’t finish a drink from it. Laugavulin (sp) is another with heavily peated (smoke) flavor, but I can water it down to drink, Bowmore I could not!

Don’t really like rye nor bourbon whiskey, anymore...just scotch whisky.

I got ahold of some ole grandad when I was 16 bc skynyrd said the girls liked it.

I've never hurt that bad the day after in my life. It was a one and done.

A local distillery, I've bought multiple bottles of what they sell, moomshine, gin, vodka, whiskey. I have better luck closing my eyes and picking something from bottom shelf from the state store.

Old Granddad was pretty rough, too.

Tough crowd. R&R, Heaven Hill, and Canadian Hunter all drink just fine. They may give you the goose guts later, but drinkability isn't horrible. I'll also add that Buffalo Trace didn't knock my socks off. It's ok, just not exponetially any better than the first 3 listed.

For me, judging on taste alone, regular ol' Jack Daniels is pretty rough.

The J W Dant red label was our go to whiskey when I was a student at Auburn many, many moons ago. It was the cheapest whisky in the state store. Amazing that it didn't kill me

Heaven hill ain't bad mixed imo, if we talking straight, it's terrible. Hell it's made by buffalo trace iirc. Worst straight I've had is green label

I would have to agree on the Heaven Hill, Shine on Georgia Moon to be exact. First bottle of liquor I bought when I turned 21, think I managed one glass of it and threw out the rest. Never had anything that even remotely compared to how revolting the taste was.

The winner is definitely Florida made Clyde May’s Alabama style whiskey pushed hard by Total Wine and Spirits. Harsh horrible stuff recommended by idiot salesperson at Total Wine and Spirits. Stuff is nasty garbage.

There's a lot of people on here that will tell you that Waffle House, Miller Lite and Bud Light are some count. There are other's that will tell you that will tell you that Frank Stitt's cooking, craft beer and Jefferson's Ocean tastes bad.

I always laugh when Mrs. Irish and I are in some different town and we go to some website like Trip Adviser and look up "Best Restaurants" and places like Chili's, Pizza Hut and Subway are in the top 10.

I decide for myself what's good and bad. I like to think I have a pretty good track record.
