I’m present. Hunted Saturday and Sunday. Had safety off 3 times but just couldn’t get my bead on ones head .
Working all week and daughters softball putting a dent in my turkey hunting. But I’ll stay after them every chance I get. Also have a trip planned for Nebraska in May.

The guy on my neighboring property killed the gobbling bird I had been after. I haven’t even heard a bird on the roost in the last couple hunts. Gonna have to try somewhere else.

I drove the 4 hour round trip to the club today. Got 0 sleep last night, so I’ll blame all the stupid mistakes I made on that..... worked 2 very killable birds and didn’t kill either one. I stuck on one for 4.5 hours. Screwed the pooch on my initial setup and had him within 40 yds for 20 minutes without being able to see him. After he drifted off, I moved on him 3 more times, but he never acted interested after the first setup. Hunted until about 1pm and just didn’t have the energy to stick with it past that. As luck would have it, by 4 I had gobblers pass in front of 2 different cell cams. Great to finally work a gobbling bird though.

I’ve been after them but can’t seal the deal. First time in 11 years I haven’t killed one by now. I’ve got one more spot to try this last weekend and then I’m heading out west to Nebraska May 11.
