He'll no turkeys won't gobble when it's cold! Stay home snuggled up to mama this weekend. Cold, wet and all these storms this week, I doubt they gobble for at least 2 more weeks.

What you should gather is it’s going to be a mixed bag of some gobbling and some not gobbling
I’ve killed birds in the rain just by knowing one was using the area and no gobbling whatsoever

The conditions should be perfect for gobbling. This is what I would ask for from the weather man!

I'm certainly no expert but I'm a firm believer in barometric pressure affecting gobbling. I've killed them when it was cold enough I was scared they were going to see the steam from by breath, but it was high bluebird skies and high barometric pressure. This cold front should have the barometer rising.

I think Saturday morning is about as good of an opening morning as you can ask for and I expect them to be gobbling. Been hearing them on colder mornings in the past couple of weeks.

I will take mid 30’s-40’s everyday. I find they gobble a lot better on these mornings. We doubled up on a pair of birds last year right after sunrise and it was 34 degrees. You could see the steam when he gobbled.

If they henned up bad it may not matter - could b silence but weather looks great - I would guess we will hear some gobbles - southern half of state could be getting henned up r close to it

Bodock- somebody put me on barometric pressure and gobbling a few years ago - I am no expert in pressure either - but I hav noticed when pressure low - gobbling down

As you can tell Happysappy, those birds are going to do exactly what they want to do, it doesn't matter if it is 15 degrees or 85. You sure won't hear laying up in bed. Get out, trust your scouting, if they gobble great, if they don't great, you know where they are there. Ask the question about how many of us have killed a bunch of birds that never said a thing, they just showed up. I like to hear them gobble, it fires me up too, but .... I sure don't have to hear him to know I can kill him.

If the wind is calm, they should. Temps around 45 seem to be ideal for where I hunt.

Was afraid of that - hav not listened this year - had few on camera last week - gone check to see if they still there - they left right before season last year in Clark county

Few I had in sweetwater last year were henned up awful - hammer hard for 5-20 minutes - fly down - nothing and each day I heard hens closer to them than I was and I was close 👎

I’ve gained some serious self control since my 20’s. I can sit in a shooting house if I have to.

Seems it was pretty cool while we were squirrel hunting on Feb 26/27th.....and they were gobbling their heads off and fighting like fools. Got a Jake scrum fight on cell camera.
