Just saw where I’m in the red polygon for Thursday. We get a couple bad storms every year here in SC but not the frequency or severity as you guys do in Bama. Will be watching this one closely as all of my family back home is in the red area for Wednesday. Hope it turns into a big nothing burger but y’all keep your head on a swivel.

SPC says that they may have to upgrade Birmingham area to "High" risk 5/5 on the next update. Ingredients are looking very good for a bad day for a lot of people tomorrow evening.

Why do they close schools on these days? Schools built since 2011 have tornado shelters and are far safer than the average home, even in a basement. If I had kids I would take them to school for their safety.

I don’t doubt the ingredients can come together - good weather guys interpret models very well. However, the two days before A27/11 were warm, partly cloudy, dry, and screaming south winds. It’s rained 5 plus inches in SWAL today. Just feels different. And I don’t think any storm as a whole should ever be compared to A27/11 - that’s a generational event - I understand that. It just doesn’t feel “ripe” just yet. We will see tomorrow. Hope it underperforms.
