What if a guy was to carefully open up a 3" high brass .410 shotshell, pour out the shot, place mylar, then pour in the correct amount of TSS shot and buffer, then crimp it in a MEC Jr?

Stupid or feasible?

You could load 3 up and send it off to be pressure tested

Lead builds pressure differently than tss. Lead is softer than tss.

A lot of these folks are probably guessing, just as I would be, but this guy is not! If Hal says don’t do it, I’d heed that advice.

The Godfather of TSS has spoken. He knows what’s going to happen here if you proceed

Hey Hal, you remember that guy on OG long ago that made up a Hevishot recipe and shared it with a bunch of folks? Somebody finally tested it and it was over 17,000 PSI. smile

But as far as I know, it didn't damage any of the guns. It takes a lot to blow up a shotgun unless you have a barrel obstruction, but why take the chance? You need to do everything just right to hunt turkeys with a .410, and even then you might not get a very effective pattern. Buy some shot from Hal and get a proven recipe, and then test the pattern. Good luck with it!

Make sure it's a old school single barrel if you try this, but I'd suggest buying a couple of 5 rd boxes. 1 thing I don't do is cut corners on turkeys and in the end the ammo is the cheapest part of the hunt.

Shells can be readily available and easily bought, fingers not so much. laugh
